GENERAL INFORMATION OF SOUTH-EAST REGION HEADQUARTER

Unit History

Border Guard Bangladesh South East Region, Chittagong comprises of Chittagong, Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachari and Guimara Sector under its command. Chittagong Sector Head Quarter was raised on 25 Jan 1969 at Halishahor, Chittagong. The sector participated in the Great War of Liberation, wherein a total 143 soldiers dedicated their lives. Previously this sector used to cover the greater Chittagong district including Chittagong Hill Tracts with 8 units. Later on, with the raising of Rangamati Sector on 01 Nov 1976 and Khagrachori Sector on 01 Dec 1990, the Arae of Responsibility of Chittagong Sector was re-adjusted. As the part of restructuring, the flag of South East Region Head Quarter, Chittagong was raised on 20-1-2013, Bandarban and Guimara sector is raised, Chittagong sector re-located at Cox’s Bazar and renamed as Cox’s Bazar sector on 01-7-2013.
