GENERAL INFORMATION OF BORDER GUARD BANLGADESH SECTOR HEADQUARTER, COX'S BAZAR
Cox's Bazar Sector was raised on 25 June 1969 as Chittagong sector Headquarters at Halisahar, Chittagong. The sector participated in the great Liberation War in 1971 and total 143 soldiers dedicated their lives during the war. Previously this sector used to cover the grater Chittagong district including Chittagong hill tracts with 8 units. Later on with the raising of Rangamati and Khagrachari sectors, the area of responsibilities of this sector was re-adjusted. As per the BGB Re-organization plan the Chittagong sector Headquarters shifted from Halisahar, Chittagong to its present location that is Cox's Bazar and renamed as Cox's Bazar Sector Headquarters. On shifting, Cox's Bazar sector Headquarters started functioning from 01 July 2013. Chittagong sector Headquarters, presently Cox's Bazar sector Headquarters, takes the pride of raising South East Region Headquarters on 20 January 2013 at Halisahar, Chittagong.
